Behind every celebrity dissolution story is a much larger trend. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports that explant surgeries — removing breast implants — have been rising steadily for years. One board-certified surgeon put it plainly: “Your body is not a trend.” Another stopped performing augmentations altogether after watching patients develop complications. The cultural shift is being driven by something simple: more people are deciding the maintenance, the risk, and the look just isn’t worth it anymore. The surgeons who built careers putting things in are now building second careers taking them out.
